hanifin 24-25

Created by: LordStanlersCup
Team: 2024-25 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2024
Published: Feb. 13, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
could either go after hanifin or maybe pesce might be a better fit as a RD, it would be worse in 23-24 but then after that when sergy comes back we wouldnt have to put him on his offhand. I think both players would be looking at similar cap hits next season and would probably get around the same in a trade

Doesn’t look at all interesting for the Flames

Has to involve a first and a good prospect to even begin discussions.

I think prospects would be fine instead of picks, no? Or are they specifically looking for picks?

Yeah that's not even close to getting Noah Hanifin out of Calgary.

And the offer in place is 8 x $7,500,000 not less. And Hanigin actually wants closer to $8,000,000 per now not less.

yes but florida tax advantages would be he actually earns slightly more than he would 7.5 in calgary and would have the bonus of nice weather and more competitve team. In terms of the evaluation what do you think he fetches?

Even if he's willing to take less, Tampa doesn't have the pieces to get Hanifin out of Calgary with no 1st round pick until 2026. Any other team would beat this offer rather handily.

I'd prefer quality prospects over picks myself. I believe Conroy would be looking for a similar return as Lindholm though, so basically a 1st, good prospect, and a younger roster player with upside.

if I changed the 2nd to Gauthier would that be enough? thats pretty comparable to that package

It'll be a roster player C level prospect and a 1st round pick at the very least. Possibly a cap dump as well.

that is pretty much what this offer is, no? roster player: perbix, 1st: howard, C level prospect: 2nd rd pick

I'd accept that deal. Can't see tampa doing it though, aren't those your top two prospects?

Id argue huuhtanen is better than gauthier but yeah, theyd still have thompson, goncalves, duke so the pool wouldnt be completely dry.

I would guess that the asking price is a first rd pick, a good prospect, a lower tier prospect, and another pick

Very similar to the Lindholm price

I mean lindholm got a 1st, brzustewicz (worth a 1st/2nd), a 4th and joni jurmo. My offer was howard(worth a 1st), a 2nd, and perbix (worth a 3rd). I could maybe take away the 2nd and add ethan gauthier but thats probably thats max I would pay. This would also be with 0 retention. I think E. lindholm's value was inflated because there were so few centers on the market, I think hanifin will get a similar return to what Hampus Lindholm got last year or what Chychrun got a few years ago.
