Well, it's either that or a Staal buyout next year, so in terms of cap, the Rangers are no more in hell than they would've been if they bought Staal out. However, neither Staal nor Puempel has a place on Minnesota, so they'd say no. Andersson is not NHL-ready, and a lot of teams will try to sign Kerfoot.

This only happens IF BOTH OF THESE HAPPEN: Staal waives his NMC AND the Rangers throw in a 1st round or second round pick(if not both).. better to wait a year or two and buy him out or see if he will waive his NMC.
