From the Rangers perspective, that is a hard pass. We do not want Larsson, Hayes is not leaving for that trade. Rangers could get more/better elsewhere. My idea for Hayes to be traded to Buffalo would be Hayes and that 5th for Nylander, BUF 2018 2nd(32nd), and BUF 2019 4th. That would be the least I would take IMO. I know this is a Rangers fanbase article but it really does show how valuable Hayes is <a href="https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2018/4/18/17242948/nhl-new-york-rangers-are-in-precarious-position-with-kevin-hayes-mika-zibanejad" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2018/4/18/17242948/nhl-new-york-rangers-are-in-precarious-position-with-kevin-hayes-mika-zibanejad</a>

Rangers can't sign Shestyorkin yet. He has another year on his KHL contract. He might need a month or so in the AHL to get used to the American sized rink. I can see Lundqvist being moved once Shestyorkin is signed.
Putting Andersson on the 4th line will not help him develop, he is better playing another season in the AHL. Same with Chytil. Chytil is a center that can play wing but he should be playing center. Keep them both down next season and give them both another year to develop. No need to rush them while we are rebuilding.
I wouldn't get rid of Vesey yet. We can extend him to a 2 year 1.65M contract (matches Fast's remaining contract). I'm not ready to give up on him yet, If he is traded two 4ths is not worth it. We can get a 2nd rounder.
Sign Paul Carey to a 1 year extension because he is a good 4th line center who plays hard and is good depth. He won't cost a lot either.
Spooner will get a longer term than 2 years. He will file for Arbitration most likely. Comparable contract will be close to Galchenyuk who is making 3x4.9M. I'd pay Spooner 4x4.5-4.75M.
Skjei should get 5-6 years but the amount is good.

NYR?
Honestly this is really close, if not already a fair trade. Rangers might ask for a 2019 3rd as well but I actually do not mind this trade. I think Chicago will have issues resigning him unless they get rid of Toews or Kane or big salaries in general

Nash and McDonagh. Where to send them?
Andersson is not going to play in the NHL this season, if he does he only plays 9 games. NYR GMJG already said the Andersson and Chytil will not be playing this season because he doesn't want to burn a year off either of their contracts. Just wanted you to know this.
Dallas will not give up Honka if the Rangers were able to retain his entire contract, it just wont happen. I, as a Rangers fan, would love to have him but there is no way.
McDonagh will most likely not be traded now after Holden was dealt to Boston earlier today. Unless it is for the right deal, which most likely involves Sergachev or Raddysh. Probably wont be able to get Sergachev though. Plus if McDonagh does goes to Tampa, and the Rangers do not get a cap dump back, you probably have to retain half of his salary as Tamps is tight on cap space.

Tampa doesn't have the room to retain unless they move other players which won't happen with a playoff run about to occur.
Buffalo wont take Smith, they already have Bogosian's bad contract.
Toronto will not give up that much for Nash.. Nash will be going to TBL, NSH, SJS, DAL.. I have not seen anything with Nash to Toronto

That seems reasonable to me. I wont argue with a 1st rd pick.

I think he potentially could. He was loved in New York and a good captain. I think because of the fan support and everything that he would. Plus if the Rangers make good moves/draft well, and the management system is cleaned up(meaning coaching primarily) then the Rangers will be right back in a playoff spot next season.

This is IF we even want him... that's a big IF
I'm sure it would be contingent on a package deal including McDonagh and the price of McDonagh would need to be compliant with BOS demands
1) No current roster pieces
2) Reasonable offer
3) If for multiple 1st round picks at least one of those picks are conditional to him resigning in Boston
Unfortunately I don't see NYR bending to these demands because they can get better offers elsewhere, therefore I don't see BOS and NYR doing business this year...</div></div>
So assuming Boston wants him, would you do just Grabner for just a 2018 1st?

Definite yes, no questions asked. Rangers/Tampa would be very happy with this IMO. Only thing I might ask, just to see the response, is that you make the 2nd round pick a 3rd/4th and retain some of Callahan's contract, maybe 1-1.8 mill, but that really is not a big factor. I'd take this deal regardless.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hazard</b></div><div>I agree with you, the only thing I have against you is the fact that you are smart and you know this, yet you still choose to do the unrealistic trade with the leafs. Honestly, even BOS wont agree to this if it means parting ways with their young talent. Your 2 best options are TBL, OTT, DAL, and WSH (& maybe MTL). Good luck</div></div>
Sorry I also forgot to retain 1/2 of McDonagh's salary when i updated this.. My original post was Grundstrom and the 1st with a conditional 2nd round pick in 2018(TOR not SJS(SJS will be the better pick)). I think you are correct in that McDonagh will probably go to Boston or Tampa but there is a chance he goes to Toronto that's why I did this. I see Kapenen being given up before Lilijgren, and no way are The leafs giving up Nylander or Marner, and as a Rangers fan I really want to get a bunch of picks(that would be my goal).

You would say no to 2 2nd round picks for Grabner? I think that's more than fair though considering he most likely will not resign.
Nash deal is fair too, either my comments above or the actual trade. I know we are retaining that's why the Rangers will most likely get 2 picks.
And Holden for a third is more than fair too.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ADTR55</b></div><div>Can't see the Leafs giving up Marner for an older defenseman who will demand a big salary soon, especially now that Marner has been playing better. It's a risky move for a team that wants to go far in the playoffs. Maybe they would part with Kapanen and a 1st?</div></div>
Could definitely see a 1st Kapanen and Grundstrom and a conditional pick if leafs make the playoffs for McDonagh.

Absolutely not... Wayne Simmonds is a rental (best case scenario) the Rangers are not going to give up that much for a rental, even if we give them Staal... We lose three first rounders! (andersson, deangelo and the 2019 first) for a player we dont know will resign with us.. Staal will not waive his NMC either... and when I say best case scenario about him being a rental, it is because the Rangers have Cap trouble this year having to resign Miller, Hayes, Vesey, Skjei, Nieves and possibly Grabner. I know Wayne has 2 years left but this is way too much to give up.

Toying around with other FWD options
I like the idea of getting Colin Wilson, he doesnt need to be a highlight real player every night, but will add good depth to the roster. As for Granlund i dont see Vancouver trading hime for a couple picks(even though they are higher picks) and as much as i would like Granlund, Hayes will be the 2C as i see it this year, Granlund could be the 3C but why not use Wilson as the 3C? His f% is about what a third line center should have, he can play the wing which could help in other situations if a center becomes availabe and the rangers want him on the wing.
Granlund would be the better of the 2, I could see Puemple and 2 2nd rounders. Doing this however probably means hayes stays at 3C with Miller and Vesey which in my opinion is a great thing.
Plus i would hate having to lose Fast. Even though he will be out the beginning of the season, Nieves can fill the role as the 4th line LW until he returns. There is no need to go out and pay for someone to fill his role.
So all-in-all i think that Granlund would be the one to take of the two deals.

The Rangers will do no such thing. Now that Lias is signed he has the potential to make the team out of camp/preseason.
As for the picks: the rangers do NOT want to give away picks. They need to start developing their system better like a lot of younger teams are. If we get rid of picks they cant do that.
