Mcdonagh, Nash, Grabner, Holden(read Description before comments)

Team: 2017-18 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
ON RICK NASH:
Would love a 1st(as shown below) but would definitely be willing for 2nd and 3rd(2019)

ON GRABNER:

2 seconds is fair value. Not worth a pick and prospect, and not a first. But definitely 2 picks. Could be like Nash above a 2nd and 3rd.

ON HOLDEN:

I don't care where he goes but we would be stupid to let him walk at the end of the year for nothing. Willing to get as low as a 5th.

ON MCDONAGH:

I think this is really a good deal for both sides. Maybe I under valued McDonagh a little because Karlsson will be available too and he will most likely get a 1st, 2nd and prospect(potentially 2 1sts) if he leaves OTT.

BUT: Grundstrom played with Andersson in Frolunda and I think it would be good chemistry for the future.

Mcdonagh will definitely return a 1st though. If the leafs make the playoffs(most likely will) then it will be a low pick so I could see more coming back to the Rangers due to this(plus retaining 50%), maybe a conditional pick(2018 2nd TOR (Not SJS's who will have a higher pick)) if they make the playoffs.

Rangers say no to all. Remember about 3 weeks ago when most Ranger trades had McDonagh for Marner, That valuation hasn't changed. It's just spread out over multiple pieces.

McDonagh should fetch a 2018 1st, 2019 2nd & 2 prospects, not being the orgs top 3, so between 3-10. So something like CARL GRUNDSTRÖM, & YEGOR KORSHKOV or EEMELI RÄSÄNEN.

The ask will be for Marner or Nylander or TIMOTHY LILJEGREN but i don't think TOR budges.

Nash should get more 2018 1st & 1 A (1-3) prospect or 2 B (3-10) prospects, JOSHUA NORRIS , DYLAN GAMBRELL

Grabner can fetch a 2018 1st OR a A or B prospect & a 2018 2nd, depends where the 2nd look it like it will land, probably between 45- 62.

Can't see the Leafs giving up Marner for an older defenseman who will demand a big salary soon, especially now that Marner has been playing better. It's a risky move for a team that wants to go far in the playoffs. Maybe they would part with Kapanen and a 1st?

You would say no to 2 2nd round picks for Grabner? I think that's more than fair though considering he most likely will not resign.
Nash deal is fair too, either my comments above or the actual trade. I know we are retaining that's why the Rangers will most likely get 2 picks.
And Holden for a third is more than fair too.

Could definitely see a 1st Kapanen and Grundstrom and a conditional pick if leafs make the playoffs for McDonagh.

if this is the honest asking price the Rangers expect for McD if Lou trades for him im going to punch him in the face. Way to much future to give up.

I'm just saying that's the equivalent. But there becomes a point where the ceiling has to match. For example, Lou says Marner off the table. Ok we start with Liljegren then. He says Liljegren off the table. Ok we start with Dermott then. He says he's off the table and Rangers walk away. In the Dermott or Liljegren situation you're looking at a 1st + 2nd + piece. We would take on a cap dump for another or better future.

You are all out of your mind. Leafs have a plan in place. They are not willing to deal Blue chip prospects, or young talented stars playing in the NHL right now. Dermott, Kapanen, Lilijgren, Marner/Nylander are all off the table. Stop making these ridiculous propositions with the leafs. Think more BOS or TBL for McDonaugh

"I want a 1D but I don't want to pay for a 1D" is a sentiment I've seen a lot of. I want a steak, I'll give you 20 crumbs. NHL GM's and coaches value Cups. Now the Leafs don't have to make the move. And Lou isn't the sort to do anything brash I agree. But if it's not you guys it's someone else. And Boston and Tampa don't have the pieces without giving up roster pieces.

I agree with you, the only thing I have against you is the fact that you are smart and you know this, yet you still choose to do the unrealistic trade with the leafs. Honestly, even BOS wont agree to this if it means parting ways with their young talent. Your 2 best options are TBL, OTT, DAL, and WSH (& maybe MTL). Good luck

Sorry I also forgot to retain 1/2 of McDonagh's salary when i updated this.. My original post was Grundstrom and the 1st with a conditional 2nd round pick in 2018(TOR not SJS(SJS will be the better pick)). I think you are correct in that McDonagh will probably go to Boston or Tampa but there is a chance he goes to Toronto that's why I did this. I see Kapenen being given up before Lilijgren, and no way are The leafs giving up Nylander or Marner, and as a Rangers fan I really want to get a bunch of picks(that would be my goal).

Lest we never forget this one ...

2004-Mar-03 Traded from New York Rangers with round 4 pick in the 2004 draft (Roman Kukumberg) to Toronto Maple Leafs for Maxim Kondratiev, Jarkko Immonen, round 1 pick in the 2004 draft (Kris Chucko) and round 2 pick in the 2005 draft for Brian leetch who also had 1 more year on his deal (but was lost to the l04/05 lockout)

Id gladly give you A.Neilsen, N.Shoshnikov, a 2019 first, and cond 3rd if you really want picks and prospects. Otherwise, you can keep him

I don't disagree with any of that. Don't really see Tampa as an option though since they probably won't move Serg or Point. I think Dallas works great but they already have a top Defense. Washington could work, but their system is so thin it'd require moving Djoos and one of Vrana or Burakovsky to start. Montreal actually makes a good deal of sense if they want to move Hudon. Frankly, I've always thought Edmonton works with a deal built around Puljujarvi. You never know with Chiarelli.
