But if it came back to life, I don’t think a mid 1st is the right compensation for $1.5m in retention. And it sounds like Calgary won’t retain anything.

I think I’d add at least a second to the Marky trade, just cause I don’t believe Holtz for Marky 1 for 1 is even value. Don’t need Chycrun or Fabbro, so those trades don’t make much sense. Have to be way better deals for Hanifin than what’s offered here. Idk if Tanev is worth that on the market, even if it’s an Oilers tax (Conroy has said he doesn’t care about the rivalry so long as he gets what he wants [second and a prospect])

And while Chychrun was obtained with 12th OA + 2nd + 2nd, he has less value now... so a 1st + Pelletier is actually very close

Mangiapane doesn't cost anything here, and only has 1 year before UFA, he's an excellent 2-way forward so if he fits, you extend him to a more reasonable amount

This allows to trade Trasenko and Kubalik for picks too. Only mission left would be to find that RHD
