Why trade out Chatfield AND retain on him to just have the same logjam at RHD?

Canes should be looking for a 2C in this case, not for even more defense.

Canes should be looking for a 2C in this case, not for even more defense.

We are leaning forward for next year’s needs without having to pay FA prices. Retain on Chatty to allow Edmonton to afford him while upgrading their defense. Also give them some value to consider moving Broberg who could become our 3LD next year.

The C market is awful.

If the Oilers give up on Broberg, they should be looking for a player still on an elc for next season, so they can avoid waivers, see how the Oilers are treating Holloway this year.
