If Conroy likes Mittlestadt that might get his attention to start talks. Hanifin for Mittlestadt would be preferable for Calgary though.

Yeah , but why would Buffalo give up assets for a FA?

Obviously Buffalo would only be interested in Hanifin if they get him with an extension or a prearranged agreement to sign one in Buffalo immediately after the trade.

Connie accepts this deal. Not sure why Buffalo deals this many players for a UFA
