CRAZY IDEA - Demers, Little, etc

Created by: Sagecoll
Team: 2017-18 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 13, 2017
Published: Jul. 14, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Panthers new management wants someone exactly like Marc Staal. Big, strong, stay at home LHD. They hate Demers. So much they were ready to take back Erik Gudbranson for him. Straight up. We make both people happy. They also need experienced wingers who can play in the top 9 and have plenty of grit. I give you Jasper Fast. I take back Denis Malgin who isn't a power forward like the Panthers want, but rather an undersized sniper who is age 20 and has great speed. He can switch off with Lias for a 4th line role and make losing Nash next year easier. Cap works out for everybody as long as both agreed to be moved, which for Staal can be accomplished by simply not playing him until he demands a trade. I'm sure we're on Demers list of teams he'd gladly go to.

2. Philly has no D. Holden is worth a 3rd.

3. Bryan Little is a UFA after this year. Winnipeg needs cap room to sign Trouba. They get good value for Little here. Don't think this trade happens til the deadline though. Until then, Hayes is 2C with Desharnais 3c, and Lias 4c. (Since AV won't play JT at C).

Smith (LD) + Demers (RD) would definitely be the second pair in this.

Not sure Holden would fetch a 3rd. Keep in mind VGK still has a number of dmen available, and some would be as cheap, or cheaper than what you're saying Holden is worth.

Agreed about the D-Pairing. If Holden cost us a 4th after 2 years ago, I think he'd get us a 3rd now after the difference on the stat sheet. But I don't think quibbling about whether a player is worth a 3rd or a 4th round pick does anyone any good heh.

NYR just resigned Fast - they aren't trading him. Staal doesn't waive his NMC for FLA. I disagree that Holden is worth a 3rd.
