In all likelihood, Seattle will not be trading Larsson anytime soon. Even if they end up selling at the deadline this year, they will be looking to reload for a return to contention next season. Larsson plays a huge role on the Kraken currently and would continue to do so next year as well. For that reason, I believe the Kraken will be VERY reluctant to move him, and wouldn't consider doing so barring a package too good to refuse. Of the trade pieces you've listed, only Niemelä, Robertson, and the first round pick would be higher value assets in my opinion. If you packaged all three of them together with maybe a third round pick as well, that might be a fair offer for Larsson in a vacuum (depending on how the Kraken feel about Niemelä and Robertson). However, that offer may get beat by other interested teams should Larsson hypothetically end up on the trade block.

All true. And then there's the sentimental value -- I think that Francis would be reluctant to trade a guy who has played every game the Kraken have, and wanted to be there when he could have gone elsewhere. I can see Larsson accepting a position with the team when he retires.

Thanks for your analysis. Makes sense that the Kraken wouldn't part ways with him. I think he's a super underrated guy on an amazing AAV. 1st, 3rd, Robo and Niemala was the package I had envisioned (Ideally I'd keep Robertson though.
