Flames defs decline, but that is close to a contending defense imo. My thoughts:

- Be prepared to let go of Knies if you want Andersson. Flames made it clear that they're retooling and not rebuilding. They'd want a more NHL ready player if that's the case, and Kneis fits the bill.
- Bottom 4 defense will get killed in the transition game. Switch Andersson and Roy. Replace Benoit with a better puck mover.

Appreciate the input

Agreed this may be a little light for Andersson, but if what you say is true and Knies is an essential piece, then of course it's a no-go. Cant come to terms with moving a kid like that out, he will be an enormous piece of this core moving forward

Fair enough. Andersson is a good top 4, RH dman on a great contract. Players like him are in hot commodity, so you gotta give to take.

Calgary says no thanks. That might work for Hanifin and it's more than enough for Tanev but you'll have to do a whole lot better if you want us to even think about moving Andersson.
