If there is a “leadership/effort issue” like you’ve said, then trading away a guy like McDonagh would be counterproductive.

McDonagh > Lee

Teams are not going to help you just because you want them to.

Why do you islander fans think Trotz would want anyone from the islanders? He coached them because that’s who Lou gave trotz to compete with lol

I made some research and it’s clearly bender to re buy Pageau than Lee or McDonagh

Look up literally anything Barry has said about Anders Lee. That is HIS guy. I don't know enough about McDonagh as a person in the room but what I can say is Barry did not acquire him

Islanders could trade Pageau without retention if they wanted to and avoid a buyout. Not sure they could do the same with Lee

Then why has Trotz put together a team that’s completely different than what he coached? Lol he even got rid of Duchene and Johansen while targeting quality vets and focusing on the youth

Trotz brought in guys who've wun cups, Schenn and ROR, to be vet leaders. We're good on Lee

I don’t know what that has to do with what I said. Trotz doesn’t care about youth which is my point
