As much as he would like to go Tampa, The lightning would not be able to do it. With sergachev coming back next season and Stamkos needing a new contract and lightning still needs 2 more forwards. Unless Hanifin and Stamkos take serious discounts. This won't work. I'm gonna guess that florida New jersey, boston and dallas would be the teams that could actually pull this off.

Tampa can make it work with both Stamkos and Hanifin if they move Sheary and Jeannot over the summer. As far as the Hanifin trade, from Tampa I'd offer the '26 1st, '25 2nd, Roman Schmidt, and one of Dylan Duke/Gage Goncalves/Jack Finley. If that doesn't work, maybe some other younger players/prospects could be discussed, but if I'm Tampa I'm not giving up Howard or Gauthier. If Hanifin is highly interested in playing for Tampa, they can wait until the summer rather than completely gutting their top prospects for him
