PIT does not want a 2026 1st, they want a 2024 1st so that the player picked will hopefully be ready while the core is still playing.

And Blues probably don't do that. Edstrom is a solid piece, but would rather a better d-man than Miromanov

2026 1st could be high with the way Vegas is right now - they have to run out of assets eventually

Cap works if Eichel and Stone are on LTIR until playoffs... which is unlikely but interesting to think about.
Edstrom is pretty good, but I guess it could be Cormier or Chayka instead of Miromanov

Not sure if Chayka or Cormier are even needle movers in the deal. Korzcak would be interesting but probably still not enough. Offer probably gets beat even if it were 2 of the 3, but less than ideal.

Would really prefer quality over quantity in a Buch return
