Change the retention to Jake, as we can’t get Smith back retaining from you guys at least. Let’s get it done

I forgot how that rule works, does it have to be one calendar year from the original trade? Perhaps Smith goes to a 3rd party and they retain on him, wouldn't that work?

I think Guentzel alone warrants 2 firsts - in my eyes; depends how Pittsburgh values him.

Historically a rental hasn't gone for two 1sts, ever. Hagel had an additional year on his contract. Pittsburgh isn't retaining on him either. Not sure how they'd get much more value than this.

Here's my prediction

VGK is gonna make a deal with STL

Buchnevich is gonna be a Knight calling it now

Hes got another year left and has over 20 goals

Buchnevich makes sense and I can see him being worth two firsts if retained on because of the extra year left on his contract. Does STL sell though? They're going to be in the hunt for the rest of the way.

Oh absolutely I agree rentals should never warrant two 1sts. But to be honest, if you go for a player like Guentzel you best believe you lock him up long term because he's not an old fella by any means. Tanev is seen as a rental, I don't know if teams feel the same about Guentzel though. I also forgot to take into account that this is his last year on his contract and I don't know what's going down in the PITs front office on if he resigns or not. I think that's something they're going to have to ask him sooner than later.

He's 29, not exactly young. He'll want a 7 year deal that'll take him to 36, not sure how many teams are willing to do that.

Apparently they be listening to offers per Jeremy Rutherford

No need for RET either as with Stone probs out for a while VGK got cash to burn

I feel probs would be 1st + 2nd + prospect

Like VGK should be in **** it who cares we want b2b cups.

The only way they make it work next season is probably retention.. Vegas wants to sign Hanifin too, possibly even trade for him this deadline.

I got a feeling Stone's going to LTIR which will free a good chunk of space

They can use it to add 5.8M Buchnevich then go get Hanifin at 50% ret and maybe move someone like Carrier out to free some room

Either way they always manage to get the room somehow lul.

Not inherently young but these are his prime years and he is an elite sniper, I'm sure there are teams out there willing to do that.
