I can't imagine that is all you get for Guentzel + Smith

Korczak is the only young player I like from Vegas. Rather get quality over quantity. Also not entirely convinced Smith couldn't get a 2nd on his own so not confident packaging Smith and Guentzel is best.

Rangers pass at that cost. Brodzinski is working out just fine.

It's completely fair. The 3rd is for Smith and rest is for Jake, while also freeing up a little cash for Vegas (Kolesar).

Personally, I think VGK have more than enough solid forward depth to the point where they’d only need to acquire one of Guentzel or Smith. If I’m not mistaken, it’s not set in stone (pun intended) that Stone will be on LTIR until the end of the year. Last I heard was that he is “week to week”, which means they may only be able to fit one of Guentzel or Smith in anyway.

With that said, I think you’re selling them short. We know that Smith can fetch a 3rd. However, given the Lindholm return, remove Dorofeyev, and it’s entirely possible that a retained Guentzel himself fetches what remains in your above trade.
