Personally yeah, I might be biased, but I think the Devils management is in a panicky state and doesn’t really know what to do with Mercer. He’s been moved all over the lineup this year and just seems to be in a really bad spot org confidence wise.

Even if they're panicked and don't know what to do with Mercer, the obvious, predictable outcome would be to use him to upgrade their net.

True enough, you think swapping the 4th for our first would do it? Just think Mercer would be a VERY interesting option to slot in on our first line if the other options at the deadline don’t work out for whatever reason
