It's well below the return Giroux got. Tippett is a superior player to Kakko. Kakko has never proven to be more than a solid 3rd liner and looks like a bust at this point. If this is the best return Guentzel can get, I would want him re-signed.

Look at Tippett at the time of the trade. He had done nothing up until that point.

He had more variance in agree. But Kakko is pretty well established for what he is. And that is a good 3rd line winger that is defensively responsible and limited offensively. I'd rather they go for a high risk player with greater upside than a serviceable middle of the lineup winger. Based on how Dubas drafts, I expect that to be his aim as well.
