Description

LA's tough style of play is starting to fade. Its great in the playoffs but the team just doesnt seem the same as it was. They have some cap space to play with so they can make moves.
First thing is first; buyout Gaborik. He is still skilled, but he has only played more than 60 games once in the last 7 seasons (2014-15, 65 GP 47P). Every other season he has failed to put up more than 23 points. Buy him out, take the hit, because no one else wants his contract.
Sign Cody Franson (or another top 4ish defenceman.
Sign Vanek. Similar to Gaborik's style, but cheaper, and can still score.
Sign King and Polak. Both fit the Kings playing style, and both add depth.
I would say to make some trades, but I think the team will have to do that next year to improve the team. With these moves, they can try to make the playoffs this year and see how their cap situation is next.

I see your point. The king's do however need to Improve on Defense because they just crumbled without Johnathan Quick.

... Go for the full rebuild after this season? Buyout Brown, trade of Kopitar, Carter, and maybe Martinez.

Terms on some of these deals out outrages. It's like back pay for how they used to play.

Kings do not want King back. He fits the old style of play, not the way they want to play going forward. I bet Gaborik will get part of this year first to see how he plays their new style before anything is done.
