Description
Keep the core together long term, no free agent signings needed. Lose JVR to free agency or try to squeeze him in until Marleau's final year, where he is either traded or sent to Robidas island. JVR would then replace Marleau

This is where, why, and how Leafs management shouldn't have signed Marleau. This is not a contending team. This is also why they need to be careful in what they give up and STOP going into free agency (Martin, Marleau).

Also, Dermott would be 3rd LD, Carrick/Liljegren likely switch between 2-3 RHD pairs if no improvement.

A roster of 20 with little cap room. I imagine Bozak won't be resigned for that much money if at all. Don't know folks think Robidas Island was all that appealing. As a plus 35 signing the Leafs only got 925,000 in cap relief, for 3 m signing. JVR won't be anyway...too expensive.
