I see PLD to wing before Danault. PLD and Fiala just hasn't worked, maybe that changes after the coaching change.

I like Byfield as 3C, no notes there. I might think of doing a line of Byfield-Kopitar-****emo as the top line.

Moore- Danault-Fiala : 2nd line
Turcotte-PLD-Laffy: 3rd line
Kaliyev-Lizzo-Lewis: 4th line.

With you on the defense.

Danault and Moore together have been solid for 2+ years now. It's the 3rd player on that line that's always a question mark. Arvidsson so far has been the best fit, but he's been unavailable. Fiala was ok there for stretches, but I think he's been actively detrimental to that line's success over the past few weeks/months.

Kopitar is still the best forward on the team, but his regular partner (Kempe) is out with an injury. Until he's back, it makes sense to not rock the boat in other areas and put Kopitar with the two guys that have shown they can produce. Much like Carter and Richards did on the 2nd line in 2012, Kopitar and Danault can share the center dutiles. No one needs to worry about getting kicked out of a faceoff on that line.

Fill in the remaining lines with what's left.

I would like to see ****emo or Thomas get a look, but if I'm taking anyone out of this lineup right now, it's Kaliyev, not JAD.

I think that's the cool thing about Byfield-Kopitar / Danault -Moore both sets of top-6 players are defensively strong enough that you should be able to throw anyone into the mix and it should still work. Put Fiala, Kaliyev, ****emo or Turcotte and they will be sheltered by their linemates

I think everything hinges on PLDs line, Laffy and PLD seem to be the most consistent combo (over 70% of Laffys line combos include PLD). So it's who is defensively responsible enough to play wing with him. I think ****emo and Kaliyev could be problematic, so it's just Fiala, Turcotte, JAD, or Lewis.

Lizzo can play with AHLers and be competitive so I'm not worried about the 4th line.

The main problem is that Kopitar's partner for the last several years has been Kempe, and now he's not available. Byfield hasn't been playing with Kopitar recently.

The Kings recent woes haven't been defensive but rather 5v5 production. I think the Kings can afford to have an offensively stacked line like the one I offer up here, especially if they get sheltered and favorable minutes. The remaining 3 lines will all be defensively responsible.

I don't disagree, I guess they are going with Byfield-Kopitar-PLD as line one, Turcotte Lizzotte as 3C and 4C respectively.
