Alot of underpayments and keeping of old guys.

Love how murray is still playing for 1mil or Tavares signs for 1.25mil

You really think in 2 yrs time that DOmi is a cap thats gone up that much will stay for a 250k raise or you keep tavares, reaves, jarnkrot, mcmann (all 30+)?

Hawks will probably be ready to move on from Murphy in 25-26 (assuming they haven’t already). What a trade for him will look like then is anybody’s guess.

Well Domi and Bert and FAs this offseason so that’s when those signings would occur and I think Domi and JT will take massive discounts to stay here, Bert not so sure but he allegedly wanted more term from TOR but they weren’t willing to give it to him with Nylander not signed

You think a guy whos played for 6-7 teams in 7-8 years, is going to watch the cap jump up DRAMATICALLY over the next 2 years and settle for a long term deal for .25mil when hes shown hes a 4-5mil player by putting up better than .5ppg on a 3rd line?
Or that Tavares will have any game left playing for in 2 yrs time, or would bother getting his old bones off the couch for 1.25mil for 2 yrs?

What have the leafs done so well, that you're so intent on keeping the "band together"? You really think in 2 yrs time that you will have 4 new defensmen and the exact same forward corps? Why would you?

Hawks decline. They probably won't move Murphy before the '25 TDL. But that offer doesn't get him half retained for two more years anyway.

I don’t think our issues are at F, our lack of a competent D core that can break the puck out and clear the front of the net is the biggest issue we have, plus JT will hardly get any mins apart from tipping shots on PP2, Minten will be a good 3C or 2C for years to come

Maybe, I just can't see them really having the same forward corps in 25-26 that they have now. And if they dont win the cup, why would you?

I think you've underpaid alot of UFAs, some unrealistic expectations (Marty Murray being healthy and in the NHL in 25-26 for one) all in support of keeping the same structure that isn;t working now.
