Description
What do you all think the Lightning should do at the deadline? What type of move do you think JBB will actually commit? I think we won't go after any of the big rentals unless we have an extension in place and we shouldn't trade for an expensive left-handed defensemen because next year we already have Sergy and Hedman on the left side. JBB also likes to trade for cheap players with contracts going into next year... the more and more I think about it, this year is not our year and we should prep for next season. Vasy is not 100% and probably won't be for the rest of the season and our best defensemen is out for the year.

I think we get Hanifin if the flames let us negotiate before a deal is done. No pure rentals this year. Other than that, maybe we bring in a very cheap forward who needs a change of scenary. Kubalik, Roslovic, Connor Brown come to mind.

but If we trade for Hanifin that leaves us with Hedman, Sergy, and Hanifin all on the left side for next year, I can't see one of those guys playing on the third pair

Both Sergachev and Hanifin have played a fair amount on the right side play one over there if it happens or Julien Brisebois plans on trading Hedman this off season if he goes all in on Hanifin.

Cooper does not like to play defensemen on their other side, especially players as important as Sergy

I'm not against Hedman being traded I just don't really see it happening. If it does, what type of return do you think we could get?

Part of that is his flipping back and forth. I think if you took whomever (Hanifin or Sergachev) and played them on the right all the time it'd work out better..
I would think a really substantial one couple firsts plus

That’s fair. Aho is probably our 7th defenseman but in my option should be 9th

I could really see you guys taking a flyer on him just a 7th tho. He has an offensive minded style of play which could be good with perbix only If you don’t get anyone else on the left side.

true, but also signing a guy for that much leaves us not that much room to fill out the rest of the roster, even with trading Sheary

Is there enough of a sample size to actually make that assessment?

2, 16 & 26 NHL games certainly a large enough sample size to say what a guy will be🙄, come on now?
