Both packages are fair value (although I don't think that Sykora fits a need), and I know that you're offering alternatives and not suggesting that NY is going to do both deals, but I've heard that the Rangers are not going to trade their 2024 first.

I don’t think they both go to the same team

What about Henrique 50% & Perreault for 2024 1st and Kakko?

Lol... of NY was actually offering 2 1sts , deal would have been done long ago.

There is no possible way 2 1sts go for players like that.... atleast use some common sense.

Rangers decline because Rangers are looking to win this season and trading Kakko creates an even bigger hole on the right side.

That’s fair. Value wise what do you think though?

Henrique 50% retained = 1st round pick...I think most would agree on that.

I do not think Perreault and Kakko are equal value wise.

I don’t think they’re equal either but I do think Henrique will end up costing more than a 1st due to supply and demand therefore bridging the value for Kakko

That’s just my take on that idea

That's true but I think the longer Verbeek waits, the possibility of more sellers coming to the market increases. I think we are waiting on Seattle, Washington, Pittsburgh and possibly Nashville to decide their intentions. That could mean Wennberg, Dowd, Eller, Novak, etc coming onto the market.

Not saying the Rangers will absolutely do both of these deals. May instead look to Tarasenko, Wennberg, Novak or others outside of this package.

But common sense would show that these are the appropriate values for each of these individual players, especially with 1 having an extra year of control. With retention on both.

Yeah I think they might look towards a RW first...whether it's Tarasenko, Eberle, etc and then go for a bottom 6 center.

Agree with the Vatrano cost.

NY can't acquire Tarasenko again, atleast not with any retention.

No Henrique is absolutely not worth a 1st
Imo same for Vatrano. He just getting opportunity, he always has shot the puck alot.
Still not a 1st round trade equivalent.

That only applies to someone while they're on 1 particular Contract. Tarasenko can be acquired with retention, because this 1 year deal he's on is a different Contract than the last one they had initially acquired him on with retention.

If you don't like Henrique or Vatrano, that's fine. But in a Sellers Market, with both needing retention, and the one with an extra year of control, these are the price tags.

Not saying they should absolutely do it. But you're not getting them for a middle Round Pick each.

It has not been a full calendar year since previous Tarasenko trade. St. Loius retained last year.
NYR cannot acquire Tarasenko with retention this year.

Not suggesting middle round picks, but the difference between the "top available " and the lower tiers is not a vast difference.
Team fit should take highest goal, not necessarily "best" player available.

I would not say I dislike either player, but to vastly overvalued these particular players based on , for their career, good numbers. They are middle 6 getting top line and pp1 opportunities for a bottom feeder team. Perspective still matters.
