Sorry, it's just silliness basing a trade on an extension. Doubt if Hanifan could even fit under the Leafs cap next season

Leafs have a lot of cap flexibility next year. Hanifin can easily fit.

Well, I certainly disagree but of course to do it, the Leaf would have to have 1m players replacing Brodie, Bertuzzi and Domi. But really it's nonsensical for the Leafs give up so many assets for a LHD.
And c'mon these sign and trades...mid season rarely, rarely happen, it just makes for a non realistic trade.
