Realistic TDL

Created by: griffmeister
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 1, 2024
Published: Mar. 1, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This deadline allows the Bruins to add some things to their team without completely breaking the bank. Boston could look to add Hanafin or a legit top 6 center but with the lack of picks and cap space it's highly unlikely.
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. Dumba, Matt
Additional Details:
Boston acquires a much-needed physical playing defenseman with the potential for offensive upside looking back at his previous years with the Wild.
ARI
  1. Forbort, Derek
  2. Grzelcyk, Matt
  3. 2024 5th round pick (BOS)
  4. 2025 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Boston trades away Gryz and a 3rd for Dumba while attaching a fifth-round pick to dump Forbort's contract.
2.
BOS
  1. Perron, David
Additional Details:
Boston is going to look to acquire a middle-six guy with some grit who can also put the puck in the back of the net. Is that guy going to be Perron? I am not sure, it has been rumoured that the wings are shopping Perron but also want to try and keep him.
DET
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. Harrison, Brett
  3. Merkulov, Georgi
Additional Details:
Boston lacks the draft picks from other deadlines in the past to acquire quality players so instead I threw in some prospects along with JD. Jake Debrusk is a guy who has that top 6 upside but needs a change of scenery and to me, this screams a "Yzer-plan" kind of trade. Merkulov is a viable prospect being top 3 in AHL scoring but this allows Boston to hold on to a guy like Lysell.

I like the player but Perron is more important to the room for the Wings right now.

Yeah, I am not sure tbh. Boston is looking for someone like him but I bet the wings extend him.

This kind of move is like an Yzermbomb, just coming out of nowhere but I just don't think they'll part with DP. If I'm Boston after watching that debacle last night, get a defensemen.

Can I get Brunet instead of Grz? If you have to dump him for cap reasons, they'd probably do it to keep the retention slot. Otherwise, pretty decent offer considering it's Dumba at full price.

What's the price on Beecher? Could also see some interest in Regula though he passed through waivers.

I could possibly see an extension, if it's for the right price. I don't think it's worth messing with the chemistry right now. I was pro selling about a month ago, not anymore. They are looking like they are having too much fun out there to want to make any changes.

It's way fair value, but with wings pushing for a spot, I assume they don't trade perron

Gryz is one of those guys that also needs a change of scenery. I figured he'd be an ample replacement for Dumba after the trade. I'm not sure about the other prospect you mentioned.

Too much for a 35yr old Perron. I get we’d have to pry him away but he’s not worth that to the bruins giving up futures for a guy with 30 pts. I do think dumba is a good target tho.

Valid. I'd much rather put Boone Jenner on here but the Jackets said they were for sure not moving him, So Perron was my next thought.
