Description
It's honestly too perfect. Two of Crosby's best friends on the Avs? Get him there. Modern day super team. Pittsburgh should sell and Girard would be a good bounceback player asset to flip for more assets. Byram as the D of the pens future and trade Karlsson in the offseason. Ritchie looking really good plus 2 1sts assuming the make conference finals. Plus the haul they get for Guentzel.

The hockey world would break, it would be awesome

If they are trading Crosby, they need to be trading for all futures. No roster players like Girard or Byram.

Assuming the Pens are going into rebuild then they'll be moving out the remainder of the big guns as well which means you'll need SOME higher contracts to reach the cap floor and Byram is 22 so he's not old when looking at a rebuild he's likely a cornerstone piece for it.

Avs decline the first trade but you have to think they consider the second. It's a huge overpay but it's also Sid.

They would have such a long rebuild that I don't even think keeping him would be worthwhile. Pittsburgh will be awful for at least half a decade and that's if they get great drafting. Probably more like 7 or 8 years honestly. I do think Dubas will be good at building an org. back up.

So Byram would be in his prime then assuming he stays fit and healthy. Plus if he continues to develop you flip him for more assets to help rebuild if it takes longer.

I had it as a whole package just didn't put them together. Still. Tons going out of Colorado and Crosby would control everything, maybe pens have less leverage and its an overpay. Who cares lol. But I just want to see Crosby and Mackinnon for 2 playoff runs. Be a huge win for the league, seeing a giant name move cities. Fans would hate it, hate them for being a super team, other fans would love the story. It would be incredible talking points for a year

And as much as pens fans might be super sad/mad, they get great pieces to keep or flip to build out their team. And who knows, maybe Sid signs back after his contract is done? Retire as a penguin. That's the ultimate payback, not that he owes the pens anything
