DNVR ByeJo stays

Initial Creation Date: Mar. 1, 2024

Description
-Unfortunately, I think moving MacD shows that moving RyJo in-season is proving too costly. Might have to keep him, and move at the draft. Hopefully he can provide decent C depth (Parise RyJo Kovalenko?), and he's had good playoff performances in the past. Maybe the value changes and he's more easily moved at the draft.
Trades

COL
  1. Nedeljkovic, Alex ($750,000 retained)
PIT
  1. 2026 3rd round pick (COL)

  1. Meyers, Ben
  2. 2024 1st round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Myers feels like a good Tortorella like player, and a change of scenery may be necessary. He can drop right into their bottom 6 tomorrow.

flyers aren't moving frost until the summer at earliest. don't have other top 6 centers other than couturier who is currently playing 4C

Well, he's been on every trade board, and they've been vocal that despite their position in the standings they're selling, so who knows. I think if the right offer comes, they'll move him 100%

Let’s have an honest assessment, Newhook was traded for a 1st and 2nd, Frost I would argue has more value than Newhook given what he has produced the last season and a half and the Flyers are in a playoff spot I just don’t see them trading him right now.

he's been on trade boards because tortorella refused to play him at the start of the season. since he's been playing consistent minutes he's been one of their top players (and best center)

their position selling primarily surrounds pending ufa's & laughton. they've been just as vocal with not moving younger players just to make a trade (ie., byram would be going the other way for frost)

playing at a 50 point pace despite league's worst powerplay & first 15-20 games playing with nic deslauriers/ryan poehling/garnet hathaway. if he's not a 2C already, he will be very shortly

This is a very fair point. It probably takes more to acquire Frost than that when compared with Newhook. Not sure the playoff spot is particularly relevant though as all indications are the Flyers will still be sellers.

Fair, but Newhook was also traded at 22, where Frost is about to be 25. There's a little more praying on the future upside of Newhook compared to someone like Frost.

I thought Frost's value would also be lower since he's known to be on tradeboards, where Newhook probably had to be pried out of Colorado to some extent. Regardless, yes still a fair point
