As much as I like Hayes, as a NYR fan I'd say yes and think it's fair value. Holden is a 3rd pair dman who can play 2nd pairing if he's needed to. Also looking at how you have the roster set up, Hayes at wing may be a blessing in disguise for him.

NYR don't have C depth so they wouldn't throw in Hayes unless they got 2 C out of it.

Maybe change the 2nd to a 3rd in the NYR trade and you've got yourself a deal!

Right. So add Galchenyuk and remove Hayes and NYR still need a C.......

They sign Zibenejad and can sign or trade for a 3rd line C. The center depth wouldn't stop them from doing this trade as they'd get rid of Holden and they'd get their 2C. I'll do this from NYR perspective so you can see what I mean.
