Kyle from Chicago has shown multiple times he isn't going trade guys just to make trades. Strome and Kubalik at the '22 TDL. Anthanasou and Khaira last year. "You value the player more than you value the pick." If Hawks don't get fair value for a guy, he's likely not getting traded.

I think Johnson w/ no retention is worth a 4th. Half retained a 3rd. Blackwell is worth a 5th all day long. A 4th half retained. I honestly don't think the Hawks look to add any more picks unless it's at least a 4th. Just my opinion.

Agreed. Nobody is taking Johnson at his full cap hit. But if the Hawks retain half, which they will, Johnson gets a 3rd or 4th. Don't forget, the guy has two rings and a ton of playoff experience.

What's your point? O.P. asked me what "I" thought Johnson was worth. I answered (3rd with; 4th without). That doesn't mean the Hawks might not accept a 4th for him half retained. I wouldn't. Hawks might.
