Poitras is on LTIR for the year, and I think some retention is needed on Lindholm. Other than that, makes a good amount of sense.

probably because he's high.

There is no reason for PIT to do that trade at all.
What are you giving PIT to take your cap dump?

Not nearly enough for the Pens to consider.

I hate to break it to you but
2025 1ST ( VAN ) + 2024 3RD ( VAN ) + PODKOLZIN
does not get you Guentzel alone, so what you paying PIT to take that cap dump?

no one is interested in Pod.
Late round 1st have little value, especially when you are waiting a year on it.

The idea does not benefit the Penguins. If the Penguins lose Guentzel, they need someone better coming back.

Elias to Boston as a free agent seems much more likely today than it did a few weeks ago. With Hanifin saying he wants Tampa and Elias being shopped after a month, it seems like a pretty viable scenario.

Reality is Vancouver’s leverage is lower, but at the same time … Boston can be opportunistic here to lock him in.

My guess is DeBrusk and Lysell for Lindholm ($850k of retention) or Grz, Lysell, and a 2026 second rounder (with the requisite retention).

Anything more doesn’t make sense. Anything less likely pushes Vancouver to wait.

In order for Boston to acquire Lindholm, the deal needs to provide assets that Pittsburgh will want. Otherwise, Vancouver just keeps Lindholm and looks for another forward option.

I’m it sure what the cap is that the bruins put on the deal, but I do think at a minimum …. It likely includes Lysell
