A late 1st doesn’t convince Verbeek to trade Vatrano and that’s before we even talk about the retention you’re asking for

I don't think that Robertson has the size or durability to be someone whom Pat Verbeek would be interested in trading for, but let's suppose that I'm wrong and he's worth that Pittsburgh third (and not simply a pure throw-in). That leaves the first and the fourth for Frankie Vatrano with retention. The same draft pick can have a different significance to different teams. Right now, the Toronto fourth is the third pick the Maple Leafs would have in this June's draft. For the Ducks, that pick would be the eighth pick Anaheim would exercise, so it's not as meaningful to us as it would be to you. My point is that the only significant value that we're getting here for Frankie is that 2024 first. I think that that's insufficient for two playoff runs and one full regular season of the guy who leads the Ducks in just about every offensive category.

Gee, I was just assured in another thread that "Liljegren is already a very formidable top 4 guy." I guess you and I are wrong.

A late first and Robertson. He needs more opportunity on a talented young team. Hard for me to put a value on retention, you're probably right.

The trade is missing a prospect, Idk what would even the scales; cupboards are bare and shouldn't move Minten or Cowan for this trade. Maybe one of Niemela/Villeneuve or a goalie.

1/2 size Robo is not the player Verbeek covets so he would have very minimal value

You want Vatrano it’s going to be expensive and then retention is another thing
