Trading a top 6 RFA for a rental.

It’s like no one sees how bad the Giroux trade was and Necas is better than Tippett was then

Terrible for the Canes. You can make this work without Necas if you send the right assets. If you trade Necas you MUST get an impact player with term.

Nah its not terrible. Guentzel signs an extension easy peasy

Oh. Well that extension better be good.

I think there is a better chance Jake is traded, and then re-signs as a UFA with Pens than him signing an extension in Carolina.

That would be pretty rare no? I cant event think of a time where a player of Guentzels calibers was traded, and then ended up re-signing with his OG team.

40 goal scorers are typically not deadline adds either. The Pens are not traditional team structure to be deadline sellers. Precedent doesn’t mean anything in 2024.
