Description
Could be a 4C but I could see them rolling with Wags there and giving Kovalenko a shot at it. A better 3LD if Walker plays on his strong side maybe? Veteran back up G could definitely be a possibility as well. Plenty of cap space but I'm thinking it has to be pure rental time now.

Yep a 3LD, 2G, and 4C should all be available for a mid-late round pick each and would fill all the holes

cheap backup goalie.

and maybe 3rd team broker to get a 4th back.

Landeskog MacKinnon Lehkonen
Nichushkin Mittelstadt Rantanen
Drouin Colton Wood
Cogliano Kovalenko Parise.

Gotta feel for Byram.

Sure do but it's kind of how it goes. Lines depend a lot on if Landy is back (I've gone the safe option of he doesn't until next year) but it's unlikely the roaring 20s get broken up for the playoffs imo.

Maybe just a shout out to all the Sabres fans who said they didn’t need Byram and Middlestadt wasn’t on the market lol

Why couldn’t I have just been born into being an AVS fan frown

Best team, best management, fun to watch, great fanbase. Feels like it’s Sakic’s world, we’re just living in it.

Yeah in fairness to them though, the trade makes more sense for the Avs than the Sabres, and always has so I can understand where they were coming from. A lot of us felt it was an unlikely trade as it simply didn't seem a good fit. Certainly I think a lot of them were off on their valuation though I never went into that much simply because it really just didn't seem to work from either team's PoV (in a vacuum at least). As for Mitts being on the market I always think we're a little too keen to say that. Teams may not be actively shopping a guy but any player is likely on the market if the right offer is made. Very few are 'untouchable' which is one of the reasons I dislike the overuse of that term.

We all have to go through it at some point.......being an Avs fan was pretty horrible for a while back there!

Regarding the post tho. I’d still like a backup goalie and maybe a 4C also excited to see the 20s line be able run line 3 instead of 2

Yeah I'm still thinking experienced veteran rental back up for sure. I'm thinking Kovalenko gets a shot at the 4C role....just seems to make a lot of sense atm but wouldn't object if they picked up a pure rental or a cheap enough longer term option. Definitely agree that seeing the roaring 20s line be what they're meant to be rather than being pushed up to where they aren't as effective is going to be fun.

I feel for you. I think that's probably similar to being a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan in football so I do get it. One of the last times they won anything of note was the year they played in the US ('67?) as the L.A. Wolves! Well before I was born lol.
