Ceci is a cap dump and at best, Savoie pays for full retention on Chychrun for a whole season after this, and that’s being incredibly generous. so this is a late 1st and a 4th two years from now for Chychrun? lmao

Let me spell it out for you.

Carter Savoie is a random prospect that will never be an NHL player. Cody Ceci has negative value so at the very least you'd be paying us the 4th round pick just to take on his contract.

That leaves Chychrun with $2.3 million retained for a pick that we won't get to use for another year and a half and will probably be in the 24-28 range. In what world does that make any sense for Ottawa?
