Parayko is not available. In fact, he has never been available as a Blues pro. And honestly, the Leafs do not have the trade capital to be competitive if he was. On top of that, there's the matter of Parayko having to waive and IIRC he would have no interest in going anywhere not named Edmonton. He loves STL and being a Blue.

It's simply not a realistic scenario.

It would honestly take the Blues to committ to a longer term rebuild. Without committing to a rebuild it would take a pretty high end young d man as a centerpiece and probably a pick or something like that, which probably won’t make sense to many.

Issue is we need to move out Krug for cap space. But it’s a lot harder to move Krug. A lot of people like to speculate Doug will pivot to moving a different defenseman if they can’t move Krug. And he may, but they just can’t realistically think they can remain competitive if the move Parayko.

Our RD depth and prospect pool is basically non existent.
