I don’t think that’s enough coming back for the Caps for retaining on both players AND taking back a cap dump.
2026 2nd, 2025 3rd and 2024 4th is probably closer to fair value IMO

Retention seems like overkill here

Forbort plus a minimum player is actually about 25k more than those two without retention.

With what second rounders have gotten, I’m not sure I’d like to give up that much draft capital for essentially two rentals and Paciorerty’s injury history is frightening.

Id prefer Forbort (Boston retains 1.25m) and a 2025 third for Edmundson. My guess is if you retain on Forbort, you should be able to recoup some of that back in a trade with his cap hit being 850k. Curious if this is a prospect for Edmundson. Between Jelvik, Harrison, or Merkulov … I can see that having more appeal than a 3rd rounder.

3rd for each player is fair, but BOS likely has to add a mid-round pick for the cap dump
