What the hell do we do now

Description
I have nothing. I mean, what is there to say? Hertl being traded... To Vegas of all teams?! Oh, and we blow our final retention slot to make it happen so we lock up our trade flexibility for the next two years!

And that's not all! We trade away Kahkonen for Vitek... who is injured and will likely not play a game for the rest of the season. Leaving us with a whopping ZERO goalies who are NHL ready and healthy.

Screw this ****ing deadline man. And before you ask, I bet money the Sharks will either choke away their tank or they'll lose the lottery to Chicago because of course O6 over everything in this league.

And now the Sharks' ownership group is accused of covering up behavior that's too disgusting for me to share. This day just keeps getting better! /s

I just don't understand why they retained on Hertl, it makes no sense to me.

Not to pile on, but imagine if you never made the trade for Karlsson and didn't try to extend everyone until they were 35+. Just bad management

Can't argue that.

Grier eats a warm sandwich in the EK65 trade to get minimum retention.

Then he lets Vegas eat his lunch by retaining on Hertl for 6+ F'ing years!

I think it's obvious that Mack Cele won't want to sign with this team if they do win the lottery, it'd be pretty interesting to see what happens if the Sharks win the lottery and see what they do with that pick, do they pick mack Cele and trade him afterwards or trade the pick on draft day?

Grier will likely draft Celebrini and then trade him to Vegas. He'll even retain on his entry level salary.

I will say, I understand the move, I do not understand the retention, but this team is in such a weird spot.

lets say we draft Celebrini, I firmly believe we have the best prospect pool in the league, with Smith, Musty, Edstrom, the list goes on, but I do not know where to go

Let's say couture retires, we need some sort of leadership, does that come from Eklund, Zetterlund, Ferraro? Maybe, I dont know

In other weird news, we will have 75m cap space in 2025 summer, that is not an exaggeration, and lets say prospects work out and make the roster, and we start to improve, wtf do we do with the money? Good problem to have, just weird

Not everyone is cutter gauthier, some players are just happy to be in the NHL, I assume if we draft him, he will want to play, They will interview him before the draft obviously. Besides, its not like he is the first prospect going into our pool

I guess the Sharks can't get much lower. Only up from here?

If the Hertl deal was just the 1st and Edstrom it would be fine. But 6 years of retention and two 3rds? WTF?

Kahkonen was worth at least a 3rd. I've had NJD fans on this site agree. But SJ got a 7th and an injured $3.4M capdump?

Barabanov should have been traded for at least a 4th. Now he's gone for nothing.

Why give up on Okhotiuk so soon? For just a 5th?

At least the Duclair and Simek trades were better than expected.
