Description

If the Oilers bought out Campbell, they could have done what Tampa did and traded for Duclair and Dumba and offered a bit more to retain salary (instead of a 3rd and a 5th, they could have offered two 2nds for salary retention). Would that have gotten it done?

Yeah because owners love buying out 4 years of a 5 year contract and coming out of pocket almost $13,000,000 for someone to not work for them.

They could have gotten Duclair anyways. They had about 1M of cap space left, send one player down and you can afford Duclair at 50% off.

Why Holland didn’t do it, I don’t know. He’s kind of a ****in moron.
