Summer Of Dubas - Season 2

Created by: Play_Party_Hard
Team: 2024-25 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 8, 2024
Published: Mar. 8, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The youth movement begins in Pittsburgh while a couple of trades occur to help the core reach the playoffs.

First off, I think the Penguins finish in the bottom 10, keep the pick and draft RHD Zayne Parekh after sending Pickering out in a trade.

- I can see Jarry being moved this summer. I think the Penguins would welcome Nedeljkovic back with a raise to be the starter. Blomqvist can start getting games behind him.
- Dubas makes another big swing for a defenseman and Sullivan gets his 2023 wish of Chychrun granted. This could possibly be the last big trade of the Crosby era.
- Eller makes a great 13th forward. If one of the young guys gets overwhelmed, he can step in.
- Megna is Karlsson pairing insurance. They played well together in San Jose.
- I think Desharnais would be a great partner for the offensive minded Graves.
- Nieto is waived and sent down to WBS for veteran leadership.
- I know this is unlikely, but in this scenario, Smith is bought out. The cap impact lasts only this season and the next one, so I don't think it's exactly the worst thing.

Ottawa accepts.

Also I don’t see Parekh dropping that low. You’re much better off with Iginla or Yakemchuk imo or maybe even Buium

No thanks.

Rather keep Laffy.

I’m sure kings could make a deal workout though. But there is speculation that talbot could sign 1.5AAV x 2. Who knows though.

I hope Portillo can get a taste of the nhl next year

OTT declines, nothing here helps OTT in any way with their current problems
