There are some interesting options here. My belief is that Ullmark will be traded before the draft to the highest bidder and we’ll have to figure out how to manage.

Lindholm and Swayman signed, IMO, is the scenario I see as most likely

Yeah I wasn’t getting into trade scenarios with him right now. I can easily see it happening but he still has a 15 team no trade. I can also see him staying. Obviously numbers above aren’t exact but it is possible to keep him under the cap

I think Sweeney prefers to run 8 deep on defense.

One right and one left backup. Wouldn’t be shocked to see them allocate 1.5m to bring in a left D. Let Regula and Mitchell battle it out for the RD backup with Regula being the more natural fit

He’s been workmanlike. I personally like more of what I’ve seen from Regula, Renouf, and Mitchell. I don’t see an NHL defenseman when I watch him, but he’s great to have on an AHL roster
