Lou didn't think trading for Vatrano at the deadline was the right move, I doubt he does it in the offseason.

Also god help me if the islanders haven't learned their lesson about overpaying for 4th liners (clutter and Martin) and spend almost 2 million on Carrick when they have fasching and Gauthier for practicality league min

I see where you’re coming from on both points. You may be right about how realistic Vatrano is, but I think, on paper, he’s the perfect fit to complete the top line. Nelson obviously isn’t a permanent solution, especially if JGP is moved, and Vatrano’s play style I think would really compliment the other two. Hopefully we reconsider.

I’m not against spending big on the bottom six if it’s the right guys. The 4th line was worth every penny back in the day, even when they were making about $10 million combined. Fasching and Gauthier are still here, yes, but ones a regular healthy scratch and the other got waived out. I’d welcome an upgrade, even if it meant spending a little extra.

How would you handle Lee for next season? I wasn’t really sure what to do with him. It’s pretty unlikely he gets traded but he’s also mostly a liability in the top 6.
