Karlsson again

Description
Hard to see the Penguins turning this down. They get two 25 y/o players, exactly what they want to do. Of course, there's injury concerns (I would never trade Norris if not) but if he gets past these and gets close to his pre-injury form, Pens win this deal very easily.

For Ottawa it's about getting more competitive now. Chychrun is LHD, not needed and not a fit and hard to rely on Norris with his problems. Rust and Acciari boost 2 lines tremendously. Karlsson is another dynamic play driver. Sens will eventually need to get stronger on defense and that will start when Kleven is fully ready which will allow them to trade Brannstrom. Sanderson and JBD are young and will need to continue getting stronger.

Hamonic and Korpisalo just can't be here next season.

Seriously, if it's too much, remove the 3rd and 7th, add Sokolov and/or Thomson. I don't care. The deal is Chychrun + Norris for EK + Rust + 2nd

That's 3 surgeries for Norris shoulder right? Have to see how that progresses and heals. That's a long-term contract he has!

I actually think this solves a lot of problems for both clubs.
I would suggest that maybe you swap Tkachuk for Norris?
Idk if I'm off base hear though.

All things being equal, I don't think they move EK 65
I don't know if Ottawa moves on from anyone in the core

Senators wouldn't do Tkachuk alone for all that let alone Chychrun being in the deal tootears of joy

No because without it, bad trade for Ottawa. They're adding 5 M$ in cap while giving the 2 guys who will be the best players easily in the near future

That's the risk. But Tarasenko also had 3

No, Tkachuk has way too much value for this deal. Norris is in this deal because of his injury problems. If not, no way Ottawa would give both Norris and Chychrun for Karlsson and Rust

yeah not that I care... obviously pit will try to contend the next 2 years for Sid and geno and won't give away any cap.

it's either without retention or no deal.

It's not about what you want, it's about what happens in the real world

Look at Erik Karlsson trade last summer. How much was he worth at 10.0 AAV?

You think you can get Chyhcrun with just a mid/late first? That pick was clearly not expected to be as good as it is now.

Acciari has 2 more years at 2.0 and has 6 pts on the season, he probably has negative value at this point. Bryan Rust will be 32 y/o next season and has 4 more years at 5.125 AAV, not much value due to age/contract too. You're basically getting 24 y/o Norris for free here because of injury concerns

Karlsson at 10.0 AAV doesn't return Chychrun

exactly is about what happens in the real world. pit is not retaining 3 mil on any of their players. the only chance is if the return is "out of this world" and this is not the case.
again, pit refuses.

Then you will have to keep Karlsson until the end of his contract or get a not very desired contract in return

No one is going to give a big return for Karlsson at 10.0 AAV
