By all means please explain your reasoning?
1) Arizona and Toronto have an established,, friendly, trading relationship.
2) Crouse is now 26 and has never really found his stride in Arizona. Generally teams like to trade players like that to give them a fresh start AND while their market value is still inflated due to potential upside.
3) Due to their market situation Arizona is constantly seeking to build through draft picks and keep overhead costs down.
Robertson is only 22yr old Blue Chip prospect that projects much higher than Crouse. He already has 8G 11A +2 +/- in just 41 games this year, with 20 games yet to go. At that age Crouse had 4G 9A -10 +/-.
in 54 Games) easily an on par value with Crouse.
Liljegren, 24yr, is a solid two-way D that is head and shoulders better than 4 of the D-men Arizona have in their line-up. And there is still potential upside to his game. Arizona gains value here vs. trading McBain
Kamph and Gregor add depth at bargain prices. Villeneuve is a 21yr old Right handed two-way D prospect that is projecting well. These last 3 players plus the Draft picks easily compensate for the salary retention and 2nd rounder
So all in all I don't see your evaluation.
