Tampa Bay probably considers that. Alexeyev seems like their type of D man.

The difference between Lindgren and Kaliyev is not a 2nd round pick. Kaliyev may be struggling to find a place on the Kings, but he's still a quality player with 4+ years of team control remaining. Lindgren is a solid backup goaltender that will be a UFA next summer.

If anything, it's an even swap.

Lindgren has put up solid starter numbers on a bad Caps team. And if he hadn’t missed a week or two he’d have starter GP this season too. Not to mention trading for him would allow the Kings to spend only ~$2mil on goaltending again next year since he has proven capable of being a full time starter

Kaliyev is an occasional healthy scratch that has clearly lost favor in the organization. That trade ain’t 1 for 1

Maybe Kalyiev + a 3rd

You can't put up "starter numbers" if you've never played half a season in your career. The Kings learned that the hard way with Cal Petersen. He was very good in a backup role, but as soon as he started playing more than every other game, he crapped the bed.

At best, Lindgren is a 1B goaltender right now. That's worth roughly a 2nd round pick. So you're suggesting that Kaliyev's value is worth the difference between a 2nd and 3rd round pick, and that's insane.

The Kings have a number of other prospects they'll be happy to trade along with a 3rd round pick for Lindgren. Tyler Madden for example. Kaliyev is not one of them. He's worth a 2nd round pick on his own.

Stephens is a big no IMO. I'd rather have Sgarbossa or Hofer playing 4C

Honestly you could probably get Harris for a 3rd
