That's a lot to give up for someone you are going to slot in at 3C. At that point why not just keep Mitts and use that package to trade for a D.

That's the point of hockey trades - the only reason the Mitts trade worked was because the Avs wanted a 2C and we wanted a Top4 D. I think Beniers could workout well here as he played A LOT with Power - adding to our culture of guys who want to be here. It would give us the best C depth in the league - Beniers ceiling and pace of play also >>>>> Mitts. I think the above package would have been an overpay for Byram. I also think with the above there wouldn't even necessarily have to be a 1c.2c.3c - you'd have a 1A,1B,1C and you mix the lines up to ride whoever is on fire

Better include Powers coming back to Seattle instead of Jokiharju and Savoie.

That salary you dumped on Beniers is going to Quinn, Peterka, and hopefully Greenway.
