Depending on how Khusnutdinov does the rest of this season, I think Rossi is dangled this summer if they can get a nice enough return (package him and Middleton for a higher upside top-4 D perhaps?). I also think it is a coin flip on whether Fleury comes back for one more go.

No shot we dangle Rossi, unless someone will offer the house for him. Otherwise I WANT ALL OF THE CENTERS

And some team very well could, seeing as how most are looking for centers who produce. I think the chances of trading him are definitely low, but if Guerin sells high on him and the haul includes a cornerstone D who can be the heir apparent to Spurgeon in a couple years? Part of my thinking also is that the top nine of this team will be dangerously small going into next season between Rossi, Khusnutdinov, Kaprizov, Johansson, and Zuccarello.

Maybe it's a trade that happens summer of 25' instead, when Rossi, Faber, Khusnutdinov, and Wallstedt all have to be given contracts. We'll see!

Why does there have to be a trade at all? Why can't the Wild just keep him?

For the reasons I just mentioned: selling high, team currently being on the smaller side, having to pay those four players all at the same time before 25-26, the chance at obtaining another top-4 D that the org's prospect pool lacks since Faber graduated. Plus, if Yurov or Heidt turns into a viable center maybe that also moves the needle.

Certainly they can keep him, and maybe are content doing so, but it is fun to think about the possibilities.
