Canes still decline... no. Marner's overpaid and overrated. I'd rather have Pesce or Necas at a fraction of the price. Especially because anyone who watched tonights game can see that they would outproduce Marner in Toronto because they wouldn't have Brind'amour demanding a perfect 200 foot game

DOnt know if Canes say yes, but TOR couldn;t afford to re-sign Jarvis AND Necas, never mind that Pesce is a UFA.

So don;t know why TOR would do it.

I don’t think trading Necas and Pesce for Marner works out for either team. Toronto will want more. Canes would require the deal to be after July 1st so they could have Marner have a cup of coffee in Arizona. Zona would take on over 5 million in cap space for 380+k of real money. Canes can’t really afford a 11 million cap hit next year.

If a deal could be worked after July 1st around (yes this isnt the final offer) Necas, Morrow, and Drury for Marner and Liljegren, then maybe it could work for the canes.
