I would keep beck in the lineup over NAK. Also Patches-Strome-Miro is proving to be a great line. It would make sense to keep them together

I don't see Leonard signing for the playoffs, especially with the team rolling as it is now.

Would also keep Beck in the lineup

Why not? Having Leonard being with the team for the playoff atmosphere would be great

No that's a good point - I just don't see him getting a spot in the lineup. Everyone seems to be meshing well and when everyone is healthy, I don't see him fitting in

I mean if he doesn't play a game with the caps in the playoffs, I'm fairly certain he could just play in Hershey for their playoffs, which would be amazing.

Don't think they'll take a year off his rookie deal for him to play in Hershey though. Would imagine it's NHL or bust for this year, maybe he sneaks into the lineup if Oshie gets hurt again or something like that.

it won't matter that much because the caps have a bunch of huge contracts coming off the books and they need to find a way to spend to the cap floor

Possibly, but think they'd rather target a top FA and push a big payday for Leonard back an extra year if they can.

I mean they burned Miro's first year when they didn't need to, but I agree, the '25 UFA class should be the best in years
