Do Calgary fans feel like Dustin Wolf is ready to be the starter? I thought you should have buried Vladar months ago, but do you see future star when you watch Wolf or simply decent projection with growth potential?

I like him, but I can see why they ‘d want to keep Markstrom to help with the transition and develop Wolf as a backup like Boston has done with Swayman.

Ready or not, I don't see him developing if he plays as much as Vladar has under Markstrom.

I can definitely see future star potential. He's got some adjusting to do at that NHL level though, so no I don't think he's ready to be a starter next season. I don't think Markstrom wants to be here any more though.

He certainly was unhappy with the way Calgary handled the trade possibilities, but he negotiated a No Trade to begin with and based on what is being presented, not sure that will change his goal of stability for his family.

With the demands of a transition to the NHL, I think developing a player as a backup with less pressure is always preferable

Since the trade deadline it seems like he's just going through the motions, I think he will be moved this off season. I'm not sure he'd be the best mentor for Wolf either, they play very different styles just based on their sizes.

You would know better than I would. I just think it’s a pretty big risk to go with Wolf as your number 1. He’s had some bad performances statistically and goalies can be ruined quickly if tried before ready

I'm not suggesting they move Markstrom just to move him, I think Markstrom asks to be traded.
