Easily not happening for either one from the Capitals standpoint.

Why? Jensen was linked to TOR at the deadline and the 1st is going to be mid round now and Hronek would be a serious upgrade to the D

Why are the Caps eating money AND sending a 2nd for a middle 6 winger+3rd? If anything those need to be swapped. Either way, don't think Caps would make that TOR trade.

The VAN trades seems a bit too much. Hronek looks good but his numbers away from Hughes aren't great. I'd still like him but not at that price.

Because you aren’t going to get much more than a 3rd for Jensen at his age and term left. And Robertson is worth one of the extra 2nds they have. He’s still a young forward with good upside

Jensen is a legit top 4 defensive defensemen. On his own he's probably getting a 2nd, especially with money eaten. I like Robertson but he's looking like a middle 6 winger. Caps have plenty of those. They need legit top 6 guys.

Agreed - Caps should not be retaining and should certainly not be adding if retention is there for Jensen. Also, I am just not a fan of Robertson so I would prefer the caps stay away in general.

Also agree with the Hronek trade - I like the idea and I really like Hronek, but the Caps are in no position to trade away 1st round picks. Make it a 2nd and I would take that all day.

The others explained it really well.

From my view point Robertson isn't really worth much and doesn't address any of the caps needs. Maybe if it was a first line winger or something along that line it would generate interest, but losing a round in the draft and getting a meah forward in exchange for an anchor defenseman is not smart.

Additionally, Sure Iorio is expendable for the right deal but the capitals will not be getting rid of first round picks for the next couple years, they are actively rebuilding as well as trying to stay in the picture for Ovi so they will move later picks but in no way are they moving a first and a young prospect for one piece.

I can see the Caps trading their 1st IF the return is a legit young player. Otherwise, no way they move it.

Exactly, if the return was like Hayton from the Yotes (Although at this point it seems center is not really an issue anymore) or Marchenko from the Jackets
